Whether I move my lips or not

Talking to God at times seems like a daunting task. How will I approach Him? What do I need to include? Is He really there? Is He listening? God are you even

real? Well friend there are simple answers to all those questions. This week I had a conversation with a person who was very overwhelmed by life and circumstances. My first question was have you prayed about it? Because of the conversation we were having I knew that the answer was simply no.

I Peter 5:7 says “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for us”. My suggestion was to take your concerns like you cast a fishing line into the water and throw them on Jesus. Our burdens are too heavy for us to bear them alone. Jesus actually wants us to give him the burden, the weight, the luggage that we are carrying and let him handle the heavy lifting. There is no problem or situation that He can not handle.

So let's answer the questions. Approach Him like you approach your dear friends when you have a serious concern. Tell Him everything, He really wants to know. He is real and He is listening to your every care. There are times that I could not utter words because the load was heavy and the concern so deep. Days I just wept in His presence and counted on Him by faith to know exactly what I was trying to convey. I'm so glad that He can hear everything I say whether I move my lips or not. I could feel a sense of peace sweep over my weary clad soul just by sharing my heart with Him. My friend you can too. I'll end with this hymn....

What a friend we have in Jesus All our sins and griefs to bear And what a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer

Oh, what peace we often forfeit Oh, what needless pain we bear All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged Take it to the Lord in prayer

Can we find a friend so faithful Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness Take it to the Lord in prayer
